It’s been a while.
I could probably come back with some big explanation about where I’ve been, what I’ve been doing, and what I have planned for NitroRCGuy.
But honestly?
I think I’d rather just open the garage door and get back to it.
And right now, getting back to it means cleaning this place up.
My RC garage has become one of those spaces where things just sort of… accumulated. Cars that need attention. Parts I intended to put away. Tools that somehow stopped making it back to where they belong. Projects that were going to be “the next thing I work on” however long ago.
You guys know how it goes.
Eventually you look around and realize you don’t really have a workspace anymore.
You have a storage area with a workbench buried somewhere inside of it.
So that’s where I’m starting.
Time to Reset the Garage
I’m not trying to completely reinvent the place.
I just want to get it back to being somewhere I actually want to hang out.
That’s probably the bigger goal.
Because I’ve realized there’s a difference between having a place where you store your RC stuff and having a place where you actually want to spend an evening messing with a car.
I want the second one.
I want to be able to walk into the garage, turn on the lights, throw something on the workbench and start working without spending the first 30 minutes looking for something.
And with winter coming, it feels like the right time to make that happen.
I’ve Got Some Things I Want to Work On
Once everything is cleaned up, I’ve got a few projects I want to start digging into this winter.
Some will probably go exactly as planned.
Others almost certainly won’t.
And honestly, that’s part of the fun.
I’m not interested in turning this into a place where I pretend to have every answer. If I try something and it works, I’ll show you.
If it doesn’t work, I’ll probably show you that too.
If I spend three hours trying to fix something only to discover the problem was embarrassingly simple…
Well.
We’ll decide whether you guys need to know about that one when it happens.
It Feels Good to Be Back
That’s really what this post is about.
Not some grand comeback.
Not a giant list of promises about everything I’m going to do with the site.
I’m just excited about RC again.
I’m excited to clean up the garage.
I’m excited to get some cars back onto the bench.
I’m excited about having a few winter projects to mess with.
And I’m excited to start sharing some of it again.
But I also want NitroRCGuy to be a little different this time around.
We’ll obviously talk about RC cars. That’s why we’re all here.
But we don’t always have to stay on topic.
If you’ve ever spent an evening hanging around a garage with a couple of guys working on cars, you already know how that goes. You start talking about the thing sitting on the workbench and somehow end up talking about completely unrelated stuff an hour later.
I want this place to feel a little more like that.
No pressure to make everything a tutorial.
No pretending I’ve got it all figured out.
Just projects, cars, mistakes, conversations, and whatever else comes up.
So I suppose the first project of the new NitroRCGuy isn’t even an RC car.
It’s the garage.
Let’s get this place cleaned up and see where we go from there.
